In early 2019 Temwa is collaborating with another incredible Bristol based charity, Aid Box Community, to produce a Strictly Come Dancing inspired fundraiser, with a thoroughly Bristol flavour.
Aid Box Community (ABC) do amazing work to support vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers in the UK (many living on just £5 per day). ABC are providing a place of sanctuary, advice and vital support, a welcoming community and free supply of life’s essentials, including everything from socks and saucepans to children’s toys and nappies.
Bristol Come Dancing is about bringing Bristol’s uniquely loyal, vibrant community together through dance to support, welcome and strengthen the world’s communities. We can transform 100s of lives #WhenCommunitiesComeTogether.
Challenge Information
Starting in February 2019 you’ll take part in 6 weeks of professional dance training in Cuban Salsa and Swing, with two incredible teachers in a beautiful central Bristol studio, committing to two 1.5 hour sessions per week in the run up to a live final competition.
You can apply as a ready formed pair or be matched up with a partner!
The final event will take place on Saturday 23rd March (so you must be available on this date!). The final event will be full of glitz and glamour with equal measures of hilarity and fun, with a panel of experienced judges, comedic comperes and voting stations – plus a number of well-known faces involved! It’s set to be a fundraiser like no other.
You’ll no doubt form incredible friendships with your fellow participants – being part of something like this is an amazing experience for body, mind and soul!
Each individual participant must commit to raising a minimum of £600 which will be fairly split to support both Temwa and ABC, helping vulnerable communities both here in Bristol and in Malawi.
You will receive one-to-one fundraising support, helping you to meet – and beat! – your target! We’ll break your target down into manageable chunks, provide all the info you need to share with your sponsors and give you the best advice we have to offer from our experience of what really works.

Sunday 3rd February, 3pm – 4.30pm, Portland Square, Bristol.
Fridays – Piloxercise Studio, Easton
Group 1: 6pm – 7.30pm
Group 2: 7.30pm – 9pm
Friday Session Dates: 8th Feb, 15th Feb, 22nd Feb, 1st March, 8th March, 15th March
Sundays – Piloxercise Studio, Harbourside
Group 1: 3pm – 4.30pm
