A very big thank you to everyone who attended our Art for Africa: London event!
It was great seeing familiar faces (and some new ones) that travelled to the Big Smoke for Temwa. Furthermore, the feedback we received was incredible. Rest assured, we won’t be stopping our art auctions any time soon!
Thank you!
Everyone mentioned that the food was exquisite, so also a huge thank you to Paradise by way of Kensal Green for serving us such an amazing meal and for hosting our succesful event too.
However, the real excitement arrived with the announcement of the auctioneer’s gavel. Art (and obviously money) went flying as our generous supporters scrambled to obtain the amazing artwork kindly donated by the artists.
Again, Temwa would like to thank the individual artists, as without them this entire fundraiser would be impossible. So an enormous thank you to the following;
Ben Allen, Cheba, China Mike, David Walker, Elmo Hood, Inkie, Jim Starr, K-Guy, Leigh Hammett, Mason Storm, Mau Mau, MODE 2, Mr. Jago, Paris, Paul McGowan, Russell Marshall, Sickboy, Tim Fowler, Will Barras, and Xenz.
Current Situation
Through everyone’s collective and charitable help, we will still be able to support the thousands of beneficiaries in Nkhata Bay North. 2016 has been an incredibly hard year for everyone. Especially in Malawi with the current drought still impacting the entire Southern African region, as well as the people of Nkhata Bay North.
If you’re on the edge of your seat in anticipation for the next Art for Africa auction, it is likely that the next event will be in May, back in Bristol. So make sure to keep your diaries clear…
Were you unable to attend the Art for Africa: London event? Don’t worry, if you want to help Temwa you can either donate or fundraise for us.
