World Humanitarian Day

19th August is World Humanitarian Day!

On this day, we remember humanitarians around the world who risk their lives in areas of instability in order to help others.

In Malawi, thanks to the support of volunteers, Temwa has been able to reach 39,000 people across Nkhata Bay district in northern Malawi. The programmes Temwa has supported in cooperation with communities across the area has seen households become more food secure, more resilient to drought, and more knowledgeable about their health and environment.

Temwa’s Managing Director, Jo Hook, returned from Malawi last week after visiting a number of the programmes. On the role of the Temwa team, she said; “I am really proud of our whole team and all the work that we do, Kondwani Both is a fantastic Programme Manager who is doing a great job of leading the team. The Temwa UK and Malawi teams focus on ensuring that everything we do continues to be community driven and community lead.”

However, our teams in the UK and Malawi cannot contiinue this work without your support! Help us to keep this vital work going by, setting up a monthly standing order or giving Temwa a donation , taking part in a sponsored challenge, or even attend an upcoming event!
