Temwa Malawi welcomes Its new CEO

We are thrilled to announce our new CEO for Temwa Malawi, Dr Peter Chinoko.

Peter joined the team in Malawi last Monday, 2nd October 2017. Peter is a programme development manager and human rights specialist with extensive experience leading organisations and programmes in Malawi and across multiple countries in the region. In addition to his business and leadership skills, Peter has expertise in education, food security and the prevention and response of HIV and AIDs. We are privileged to have him lead the team in Malawi.

When asked about joining Temwa, Peter said..
‘My first week at Temwa has been so eventful. Apart from familiarising myself with the staff both in Mzuzu and Usisya, I was also paid courtesy calls by Business Executives in Mzuzu.

Using Temwa’s core values as a denominator I’ve been able to energize the staff as a foundation to establishing a new culture in the organisation.

Certainly, there is a lot of work to be done. Foremost, we’ve to work as a team, familiarise ourselves with the policies and procedures, adoption of workable plans, resource mobilisation amongst the others.

Otherwise I am seeing a Temwa which is vibrant, professional, exemplary and having the zeal to implement huge programmes.

We would like to thank Karen De Cokere, who has been working as an Operations Director (acting CEO) whilst the recruitment process for the CEO has been taking place. Karen has done as an exceptional job during this interim phase, for which we cannot express our gratitude enough.

Peter will be in the UK for the next two weeks, come meet him and Kondwani Botha, our Programmes Manager, at An Evening with Temwa Malawi on 23rd October at The Kensington Arms, Bristol. Register for a free place soon to avoid disappointment.
