About Temwa Carbon Balance

In December 2019, we introduced Temwa Carbon Balance; now you or your business can balance your CO2 emissions by restoring and protecting carbon-rich community forests in Malawi.

We will support you to calculate your emissions, provide tips for reducing your carbon footprint and offer a way for you to balance emissions from your travel, energy and operations. The programme is based on three strands of work: tree planting; sustainable agriculture and agroforestry; and support for local governance. By working with community structures and improving household livelihoods we help ensure that your trees stay in the ground and protect a flourishing, green landscape.

Our Speakers for the Launch

Dr Chimwemwe Msukwa, affectionally known as CAPS, is the Chair of Trustees for Temwa Malawi and has an extensive background in community development. In 2016, he joined the Temwa Malawi board, having pioneered the conversational development model, and we are thrilled to have him in Bristol for the event.

Richard Potter was born in Zambia and grew up in Africa. He is currently the Chief Technical Officer for Microsoft Services UK and Chair of Trustees for Temwa UK. Richard is committed to seeing communities transformed and the role technology can play in this.

Ben Heald is a Bristol Business Expert. He is Chair of Sift, Business Data Group, the Bristol Pound and St George’s Bristol. Ben is a long-term supporter of Temwa and has visited our programmes in Malawi.

We hope you can join us and look forward to telling you more about the vision of Temwa Carbon Balance and how you or your business can get involved.

Please contact the office 0117 287 2892 or info@temwa.org with any questions about the event.
