Challenge yourself on a moonlit overnight ride around the UK’s first cycling city.
When: Overnight Saturday 1 – Sunday 2 July 2017
Where: Bristol and surrounding countryside
Distance: 50km/100km (choice of distance)
Ideal for: Confident, strong cyclists looking for something a little different
Age restrictions: 16+ (NB roads are not closed)
Minimum sponsorship target: £175
Choose from a 50 or 100km route on this fully-supported bike ride with one key difference – it’s overnight! You’ll see Bristol’s iconic sights – and climb its famous hills – from a whole new angle. The Bristol Nightrider team provides support along the route, including plenty of well-planned break points and a deserved breakfast and medal at the finish line.
Nightrider isn’t a race or a sportive, but it certainly is a challenge – Bristol is notoriously hilly, and cycling a long route at night will need some training. Whilst the route is mainly on quieter roads, city-centre traffic can still be busy, we don’t recommend this challenge for beginners or less-confident cyclists.
This is a great opportunity to organise a unique night out and push yourself alongside friends or colleagues: get in touch if you’d like to set up a team and work out a joint fundraising target.
