Join Temwa for this memorable 3-day cycling adventure through some of the South West’s most beautiful scenery

Communities in Nkhata Bay North are currently living through Malawi’s worst cholera outbreak in twenty years, rampant deforestation and land degradation, and a devastating food crisis. For the majority of people who rely on farming to feed themselves, this is increasing pressure from other daily challenges to life, such as a higher than national average HIV prevalence rate and high rates of illiteracy, which curb opportunities and incomes.

However, Temwa’s projects and community-driven approach have been proven to reduce the negative impacts of these issues. Just last year Temwa helped reduce the local HIV prevalence rate from 16% to 13%. And the farmers we work with have been able to scale up operations using sustainable farming methods to increase their incomes, their resilience to the effects of climate change and provide consistent nutrition for their families.

You can help us continue this vital work by joining us in September for this exciting three day cycle challenge for a truly memorable experience.

The Route

Starting in the amazing Eden Project near St Austell, Cornwall, you will ride north east up to Bodmin Moor (an Area of Outstanding Beauty) and along the Tamar Valley in South Devon. You and the team will then ride on to Dartmoor and over to Tiverton. From there you and the crew will head towards Taunton in Somerset, with the final leg seeing you spring forth to Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge before finishing up in Bristol where a welcome cheer (and pint if you choose) will be waiting for you.

Spread over three days there will be plenty of time for stops, photo opps and tasty lunches to fuel up, with South West delicacies like pasties and cream teas!
